Young Bongani is very sad when he is told that he is too young to go to school. His grandfather suggests catching monkeys is enjoyable, but warns that Bongani must be patient. Bongani learns to respect monkeys, learns patience and appreciation for what he has. There is much detail to discover in the picture book illustrations and the alliteration and repetition in the text is appealing.
