Annotation
Who is the Biscuit Maker? Benedict Stanley and his cat, Audrey Mae, live at 23 Mavin Road. It’s a busy and diverse neighbourhood but people are not returning Benedict’s morning greetings. One day a young neighbour, Rory, stops to admire Audrey Mae and this gives Benedict the idea to begin baking biscuits for his street. This tasty but anonymous gift is well received until the day Benedict falls ill and the biscuit supply stops. People are concerned but don’t know why until Audrey Mae visits Rory. The neighbours all rally around to help Benedict until he recovers. A beautiful story of kindness and community with a Basic Biscuit Dough recipe at the back of the book.
