Annotation
Consuela, a young refugee from Guatemala, gradually adjusts to her new life in an Australian multicultural school. Her worries are personified by six tiny home-made corn dolls which she puts into her hat band where they shrink as each worry is overcome. The story is inspired by Guatemalan worry dolls given to children to whom they can whisper their worries and concerns.
