Annotation
The setting is ancient Peru, where a village of insect-sized gnomes led a peaceful life sailing and fishing. When the Spanish invade, they must find a new home and set about transforming an old clay tea pot into a ship. Their adventures on sea include dodging ferocious iguanas, crashing onto reefs, and almost sinking in a terrible storm. At last they land upon the Australian shore and call it home. This amazing adventure is imaginatively captured with Ingpen’s art.
