Where the Streets Had a Name
Hayaat and her family are Palestinian living in the occupied area, while her grandmother’s village is in Israeli occupied Jerusalem. Entry is forbidden to Palestinians though Hayaat’s grandmother’s dying wish is to see her village again, so Hayaat brings soil to her from her homeland. A life lived in a political/religious war comes alive for the reader.
