This colourful bilingual board book was created in Alice Springs for mothers and babies or ‘ampe akweke’ in the Arrernte language of the Aboriginal people of the Alice Springs area.

The book uses the repeated question ‘angwenhe impatye’ or ‘whose footprint’ to identify the tracks of various native animals in the area. Follow the footprints to the edge of the page and turn the page to discover whose tracks they are. The last footprints are human and on turning the page the young child can see their own reflection. This beautiful little book is ideal for sharing and interacting with young children.

Its beautifully colourful illustrations were created by the young mothers attending various groups at the Gap Youth and Community Centre in Alice Springs.
