Each page of this delightful book features Arrernte and English, beginning with the number 1 – ayenge anyente myself, taking us through the numbers one to ten (cousins) ending with Artweyenhenge areye anthurre !- big family. The imprint page lists words in Arrernte and English, such as anyente - one.

Artwyenhenge was developed and written as a cross cultural resource to combine Arrerente language learning around family and relationships with English numeracy. It merges both First Nations values and ways of seeing the world with Western numeracy learning. The Arrernte counting system uses general grouping terms for numbers beyond three, hence you will only see translations in this book for one, two and three.
