This small brightly coloured board book introduces seventeen animals presenting their names in Noongar, the language of the Noongar people of the south-west of Western Australia, and in English.

Each page shows a clear brightly coloured illustration of the animal with their name given in both Noongar and English that would encourage readers to recognise the animal and its name in both languages. The animals start with a small bidit (ant) and progress through with animals gradually growing in size ending with yongja (kangaroo and wetji (emu). A QR code at the back of the book provides an online pronunciation guide.

The Noongar language is spoken by fourteen different groups across the south-west of Western Australia, and this is the first in a series of books promoting knowledge and use of the language.

Jayden Boundry is a Wadjak Balardong Noongar and a Badimaya Yamatji man. He is a Noongar language teacher and cultural consultant. Illustrator Tyrown Waigana is a Wardandi Noongar and Ait Koedhal (Torres Strait Islander). He is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work includes painting, illustration, sculpture, animation, and graphic design.
