The University of Wollongong Batemans Bay campus has been engaged with local community bodies, including schools and Indigenous groups. Part of the project was the creation of books in both English and language that were a cultural and educational resource. This book is based around the experiences Batemans Bay Public School students had at Cullendulla learning about the Country and Culture of the Yuin nation.
Students interacted with local Elders and the students illustrations for the book reflect this interaction and emphasises the importance of animals particularly birds and marine creatures that are found in and around Cullendulla Creek and beach. Many are important totems but also food sources for First Nations People. The text is in English and the local Dhurga language.
At the end of the book are several pages of photographs of the students engaged in the project.
