This is the retelling of a Dreaming story about how Frogmouth, who yearns to do more than just live in the trees like other birds, ultimately finds her true home. During her quest, Frogmouth helps the other animals discover where they belong. In the end, it is Moon who shows Frogmouth that her place is as a guiding star in the heavens.
This book has great child appeal, with gentle humour in both the text and illustrations. The colour-saturated, stylised illustrations echo Aboriginal artwork and bring the story to life. Ambelin Kwaymullina is from the Bailgu and Njamal peoples of the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
