In this board book for babies and toddlers, eight Australian animals are depicted in vividly-hued gouache and digitally-rendered illustrations set against a white background. Each illustration is accompanied by a descriptive label in clear, large font reflecting the animal’s movement, 'a waddling echidna' or demeanour, 'a shy possum' or 'a watchful bandicoot'.
Honeychurch was born in Broome, Western Australia and is descended from the Wunna Nyiyaparli people of the Pilbara. Kiara now lives with her family in a rural community not far from Hobart in Tamania where she attends high school. This is the fourth book in the Young Art series that showcases young Indigenous artists.
