Little Bird rises with Sun to 'sing the world alive' and wake those who are sleeping. Soon Wind appears and so it is time to eat, feasting on the crimson blossoms that feature so dramatically on the cover. Each natural element seamlessly prompts another part of Little Bird's daily routine. Cloud's huffing and puffing leads to play, Rain's falling and splashing means it is time to bathe before Dusk and Moon signals roosting and rest.
The lyrical language creates both a wake-up call and lullaby. Figures of animals and the rocks and trees of the land and the celestial elements of Sun and Moon contribute to the outstanding design, enhanced by rich ochre colours and textured patterns.
