This touching book highlights the special relationship between mother and small child, patiently answering questions and sharing knowledge. The simple text would appeal to young children, especially when the book is shared with an adult. The characters are kookaburras, the mother bird sharing her love with her baby kookaburra. Ambelin Kwaymullina used gouache paint on watercolour paper to create the colourful illustrations.

Sally Morgan and her daughter Ambelin Kwaymullina belongs to the Palyku people from the eastern Pilbara region of Western. Both creators are successful, award-winning Indigenous writers and illustrators in Western Australia.
