Mum, Ruthie and Roger the dog go to collect pandanus at Bawak and are surprised and scared to see a big, black buffalo! What will they do? How are they going to get home safely?
This short and exciting story shows what daily life can be like in this remote Yolnu Community in Arnhem Land. The book is written in Dhuwaya with an English translation. The rich and colourful illustrations were created by the children of Yirrkala School contribute much to the story. The endpapers artwork are a fitting opening and finale to the story.
On the back cover is a QR code which links to information about the book, its creators and information about the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
