Anangu man Bob Randall explores the sacred principle of kanyini––unconditional love and responsibility to all things, especially the land and its people. As he explores the history of Uluru, Randall puts the longevity of Aboriginal habitation in Australia into historical perspective. He shares stories of living on the land around Uluru, explaining Aboriginal people’s strong connection to place. He also tells the often heart-breaking story of his people, including the Stolen Generations, of which he was one.
Bob Randall is a member of the Yankunytjatjara people, one of the traditional owners of Uluru. Lavishly illustrated with both historical and contemporary photographs, 'Nyuntu Ninti' was a CBCA Notable Book. It was also shortlisted for the Wilderness Society Environmental Award and included in the White Ravens Catalogue. It is based on the award-winning documentary Kanyini.
