This simple humorous tale tells of the creator’s experience of going camping and fishing with his Dad and brother at Giru. They cook sausages and roast marshmallows over the fire and stay up late. Overnight it rains and it was pretty muddy but they went fishing anyway and with great success, catching a barramundi, a shark and some mudcrabs.
When they try to leave their car gets bogged and both boys fall over in the mud pushing it out. The story ends happily however as they return home, clean-off the mud and enjoy a feast of fish and crabs that they share with everybody. The simple, colourful illustrations in watercolour and crayon add greatly to this happy, if muddy tale of a family fishing trip.
