Bardi children of One Arm Point Remote Community School take the reader on a tour of their favourite parts of Country, located at the tip of the Dampier Peninsula in north west Western Australia. Photographs, maps, recipes, charts, instructions for games and weapons make this informational book a joy to read, while conveying essential cultural knowledge.

The table of contents invites the reader to dip : there are excellent rhymes and stories and exuberant paintings by the children themselves. These will encourage the sharing of the book across multi-age groups. The yellows, blues and reds of the book’s illustrations mirror those of the land and sea where it is set and are evidence of the high production values.
