Annotation
‘W is for Wombat’ is taken from Bronwyn Bancroft’s much larger book, ‘Possum and Wattle: My First Big Book of Australian Words’. This smaller alphabet board book is a great introduction for very young children to words and images. Each page depicts an image taken from the original book with the wonderfully colourful trademark Bancroft imagery celebrating the uniqueness of Australia, its animals, plants and landscape. A lovely book to share with the very young.
Born in Tenterfield, northern New South Wales, Bronwyn Bancroft is a descendant of the Djanbun clan of the Bundjalung nation. Utilising many mediums, Bronwyn's artistic practice extends from public artworks to children's book illustrations. She is represented in many collections both in Australia and overseas.
