‘We Connect’ was created by the children and parents of Thomastown and Werribee Koorie Kids Playgroups to celebrate the importance of coming together to share culture, language and identity and to share these with all Aboriginal children. ‘We Connect’ is a small, colourful book filled with photographs of the children and their families as they create and share culture. Each double page spread commences with the words ‘We connect ....’ The book shows all the little boorais (children in the Gunai language) and the pride they have in their culture.

This is one of a series of books published by Kids’ Own Publishing and is a good example for other early childhood groups on how to create their own community stories. The photographs and colour throughout the book have a warm community feel and would appeal to young children and their families.
