In the 1950s many children were sent to Australia to be adopted but many instead suffered the cruelties of boys’ homes. Young Colm escapes from the cruelties of Bindoon Boys’ Home and meets up with Billy. Together they travel from the goldfields of Kalgoorlie to the north.
