Hana is very creative and nothing makes her happier than styling hijabs. She has hundreds and cannot stop collecting them or creating them in ever increasing magnificence. The ever-increasing collection is a problem. Her mama is annoyed with the clutter and Hana’s lateness as she pursues ever better hijabs.
Hana also helps at her Aunt’s hair salon and watching the ladies admiring their new hairstyles gives her an idea. Hana takes her overflowing collection of colourful hijabs and decorative materials to her Aunt’s salon and starts a business styling hijabs for the customers. Soon her creative talents are in high demand and Hana couldn’t be happier.
The simple text is accompanied by vivid artwork depicting the colourful and creative nature of Hana’s hijab styling. At the end of the book is a brief interview with both the author and the illustrator about what the hijab means to them.
