Rachel is a young German Jewish girl who survives the Holocaust when her father advises her not to speak. There is a focus on those who support and hide the Jews. Other Holocaust survivors share harrowing experiences when together at an English orphanage in hopes of locating family members after the War is over. The emotional content is believable and creates great empathy.
