Declared Jewish and now in danger from Hitler’s regime, young James is smuggled in a suitcase to his aunt in London. Then when London is bombed, James is shipped to Australia. where he pretends to be English. When the small town community is threatened by a Japanese invasion, James feels compelled to ‘confess’ his heritage.
