Based on the author’s own Italian background, in this autobiographical novel, she includes her family’s experiences in bite-size stories of Italian immigrants in Australia and those who remained in Italy. There are her grandparents who never left Italy, her immigrant parents in Australia, her second-generation self and her third-generation daughter.
