Teenager Nick Eliopolus came with his mother and father from Greece and settled in Richmond, Victoria.  He and his mother speak no English, and Nick arrives in the middle of the school term, making it hard to make friends and settle into his new country.  He finds himself involved in a dangerous mystery, which eventually enables him to be part of his new country, Australia.
