This is a true story of a young boy orphaned at the close of the First World War. Honore wanders lost through the snow. He meets Tim Tovell, from the Australian Flying Core, who tries unsuccessfully to find young Tim’s family, then smuggles him aboard a ship to the UK, then ultimately Australia. Authentic illustrations and photographs in this picture book convey the time and a sombre tone which brightens as Tim Tovell and his family welcome Honore into their home in Australia.
