From Phillip Island to Darwin, from Mon Repos to Boulia and around Broome, this colourful picture book takes you on a journey through the night-time activities across Australia. Each double page spread begins with the place name or area and a sentence about the place, each ending with - under the Southern Cross. The constellation, the Southern Cross, is clearly shown at the top of each scene. Short paragraphs with more detail about each place are scattered throughout the pages. Night-time activities such as fishing, football, fireworks, Min Min lights, turtles and penguins are drawn in detail with diverse groups of people enjoying the activities, under the Southern Cross. The final two pages give an explanation about the Southern Cross and how to find it in the night sky. (A bonus is that each page has a picture of Frane’s dog, also under the Southern Cross.)
